scott386 RLC™# 31282 I liked Joe's post on the "moderation" thread... I understand the need to keep members from bashing one another— but really— a topic titled "Who's up for an account moderation?" As someone with his own Articles, that says a lot about the BS going on here lately. The last guy to post on there said about the same thing... and was edited. Go figure. nomad200 RLC™# 47901 I need to get my crum_a account signed back up so that I have a spare for any pending moderation. Feeling uncool and left out with so many of you receiving detention these days. armataz RLC™# 1903 I got a PM from one of my Mattel buddies, saying that I'm applying too much pressure to the upper management of the club (whoever that is) and should back off a little and let the boards calm down. So last night I posted a new thread to dig my heels in deeper. Anyway, who should appear on it other then the supposedly banned Rex Manico. What's up with that? He hunts Mantis and picked fights with him (as well as others, such as myself), yet he's already back online. And Tom and Mike are still locked in PM's. Yeah, thats fair and equal punishment. nomad, if you sign in under crum_a while suspended, they will remove you completely from the site. nomad200 RLC™# 47901 Taz-- Tom talked with HWC Mark and got him to lift his Moderation on the crum_a account. I'm just waiting for that dumb Taxi Bus to come around for some unknown reason. Hey did you see the Cruzinrod had a person volunteer to be moderated in protest of his attitude? Too funny. Evidently we are organized as well. "The Hot Wheels Mafia". I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm seriously pissed that you have been having meetings behind my back. quantum RLC™# 34272 Tom – nice work as always. Everyone – what did you expect? They want fawning sycophants; they convince the fence-straddlers that everything is ok. What's left is the hardcore minority freethinkers that know what the REAL story is. Best thing is to know the deal: Mattel is here to make money, not friends. This entire site is dedicated to selling, not "keeping the HWs dream alive" or whatever other nonsensical spin gets put on it. armataz RLC™# 1903 Roger's ranting: The feud was organized in some manner. claims it was some sort of conspiracy. Guess he was not noticing that every time Mike posted, Rex followed him to carry on or pick a new fight, or he'd post a thread with hostile text to encourage others to challenge him. bbussey RLC™# 348 They had already handled the situation, via posts and via moderation of various members. Yet they chose to pick at the scab by posting that arrogant haughty thread asking if people want to be moderated. Simply Beyond Stupid. With the sh!t product they are putting out this year coupled with the lack of communication, and the escalating blowback they are receiving from that, you'd think that someone over there would have at least an ounce of realization that maybe the increase in "feuds" might be a result of their incompetence? But no, they think that being Mattel shields them from customer blowback and the worst recession in two generations. 36ford RLC™# 16448 I agree with you 100%. And the arrogance of that post to tell them if we want to be moderated was beyond anything I've ever seen. I am very disheartened by the whole thing. And I doubt, as you do, that they will ever take responsibility for any of what is going on. I am very glad that the A-OK sales were way down. I will not buy anything anymore that isn't 110% what I'm looking for. Obviously they don't want to hear anything that isn't a slap on the back and an atta boy. I give that when it's earned, not for every piece of whatever they slap their brand on. PLAYINGMANTIS RLC™# 15826 My expectations for the quality of club pieces has not changed since day one and I'm sure everyone here expects more for their money. Taz had been warning us of the little things that were changing almost as they were happening. Trying to be the voice of reason hasn't worked. Without using the economy as an excuse, why do you think they're lowering the standards? The bigger question is what made them think it would be acceptable to do so? scott386 RLC™# 31282 Just read Roger's thread... nomad200 RLC™# 47901 Armed Rebellion sounds a bit violent and I'd probably miss out on some ski days so how about: 1. Create a satirical website that is a parody of the Red Line Club... nope, been done. 2. Form a "vocal minority" and protest everything that the young masses want. Nope, some guy named Rex says that's been done as well. 3. We could tell them to stick their poorly designed Hot Wheels some place where the sun doesn't shine. Damn. That's been done, too. Armed Rebellion it is. Count me in. clamjuice RLC™# 35801 I'm for whatever we decide to do. Strength in numbers. I've been calling out Mattel for a few years now; I'm glad to see others fueling the fire. I felt alone for awhile, and figured it was just because I was outspoken. scott386 RLC™# 31282 Don't worry, clamjuice... this is our new board. bbussey RLC™# 348 You weren't alone. All of us here, and others as well, have spoken out at one time or another. It's just that it is more obvious now because of their poor performance and so many members speaking up at once. At this point, my feeling is that they can't crash fast enough. The only Hot Wheels anything that I absolutely buy are the Neo-Classics type vehicles, and I've been that way for at least the last three years. But if they continue to tread the path they are on, I'll stop buying them as well. I have no problem seeing this venture end if they continue to push out crap. armataz RLC™# 1903 Don't know how many times I've said much the same over the years, BB. I got my biggest knock when Mark said he had little to do with this year's cars beyond choosing the castings, then his replacement (Ryan) also claimed he would have little say because most the cars were already done before he came on board. So both Mark and Ryan are refusing responsibility for this line, and yet we are told to believe on blind faith that they want to make things better. Which way to the special Kool-aid? nomad200 RLC™# 47901 I have to agree with everything that you guys have been saying. I think one of the main problems is the constant rotation/promotion of employees. Each guy wants to come in and make his mark. They know that they won't be here long and therefore the easiest way for them to improve the quarterly cash flow is to cut costs/corners. By the time the backlash hits, they have moved on. They will be pushing Barbie dolls when next year's membership numbers show up and are much lower. I'm all for not posting anything on the boards until Scott, Tom, and whoever else is back in the fray. redryder31 HWC™# 22294 The fact that no one wants to "man up" and take responsibility for the miscues, mistakes and blatant, dare I say, lies, really speaks volumes about the current "HWC management". As for Roger's "you want to be moderated" post, well, I think it was in poor taste and showed a lack of good judgement on his part. HWC Gary should have yanked it; instead he patted him on the back. PLAYINGMANTIS RLC™# 15826 Although I am no longer moderated I refuse to post on the boards until the casualties of this war have been made whole. Never believe for a minute that this was anything except an opportunity for the emporor to convince you that he's truly wearing clothes. quantum RLC™# 34272 I'd be willing to give guys like Bryan, Mark, Ryan, and the other thousand sock puppets a pass only because it's someone higher up that's shooting down every idea that doesn't squeeze blood from a rock (ie, the cash from our pockets). You know you've hit rock bottom when hwphatz34 PMs you to tell you he agrees with you. PLAYINGMANTIS RLC™# 15826 Thank You Tom for all you bring to this club. I hope your silence only means that you're working on something good. Now is the time to let your creative juices flow and post with reckless abandon. Just continue to tell the TRUTH. Now is not the time to take Ryan's approach and fade away. Speak man, speak! nspo RLC™# 18673 My silence is just because I'm trying to get the Hot Wheels™ out of my brain. nomad200 RLC™# 47901 Now I've been called out by Cruzindick. I have to sign-on as nomad200 to access this PM and I have occasionally forgotten to sign-out and back in under crum_a so that I can post. Even though the Nomad account is in my son's name (and he actually looks at the site with it) Cruzindick PM'd me and said that he was placing that account under moderation because I was posting with two accounts. It does make me wonder if they are reading this PM because I mentioned re-upping the crum_a account. I thought about replying back to see if he could check and see if Rex is doing the same thing. scott386 RLC™# 31282 How is he gonna shut everybody up? Moderate everybody and lock every thread? I'm pretty sure they are reading this, too. I wouldn't be surprised... I almost wish they'd say something about this thread. PLAYINGMANTIS RLC™# 15826 Can they read These PM's? That would just be wrong if they were set up to do that. quantum RLC™# 34272 I 'd be willing to bet the Mods don't have access to PM threads, but the Admins do. I personally don't care, but not everyone's an anarchist like me. |

Forum Thread: Ask HWC Ryan When the continuation of the same question that is asked, who runs this site, I will tell you that it is me. When you talk about the site, you are talking to me. I have communicated with almost everyone that is on this thread at one time or another. I have said this before and I will say it again. Production and other questions about the product belong to the marketing crew. I can only say so much on certain matters, the rest has to come from the people who are responsible for that area. We have addressed your issue with the product when you complained then. We have addressed the issue with the suspension on the cars, even through they are supposed to be collectibles and not played with. So besides the above items you want someone to confirm that they read your posts, is that what you are looking for, some kind of notice? If that is what you are looking for then here it is. It has been read and noted... Thanks, HWC Chris |

You say you addressed my issue with the lack of Torsion-Bar Suspension in the Neo-Classics when I "complained?" It took four months to get an official response of any kind, and you still have not clarified when TBS will be used and when straight axles will be used in Neos-type offerings. The "suspension issue" was addressed? It took six years for that. Both actions came after major continuous objections were posted on the boards, which escalated due to the administrative silence. The fact that these are collectibles does not mean certain features are not supposed to function. While the irony in that statement is that the $1 cars are supposed to function but the $20 cars are not... who said anything about "playing" with them? The frustration here is due to the product not living up to previous billing. The models are supposed to be manufactured based on original Redline-era ideals. Your response implies that you believe this is just about people crying because their petty complaints aren't being responded to – and that's a shame, because most of these posts are trying to point out what is needed to get back on course. The primary point in most of these posts is that there needs to be more communication, especially when unexpected events happen, rather than complaints about your product choices. They are trying to help you, and yet you see them as baseless attacks. AND – don't keep saying some form of "If you don't like it, don't buy it" like it's gospel and then accuse the members of collusion when the majority of them follow your advice. |
